“Pull up a chair- There’s something more meaningful on the menu tomorrow night.”
After the horrific stabbings on July 1st 2018 that devastated many of the refugee families who call boise home as well as our community at large, I felt compelled to organize an effort within the downtown business community to show support for the families and our diverse city on a whole. After a quick brainstorm and some good ol’ door-to-door face time with business owners, I organized the first ever Night of Giving in collaboration with The International Rescue Committee in Boise . I joined together over a dozen downtown restaurants and eateries to participate in a night of giving to support refugee families impacted by the tragic stabbings. On Thursday, July 12th, Juniper, Prost Boise, Red Feather Lounge, Donut Daze, The Mode Lounge, Eureka, Matador Restaurants, Bittercreek Alehouse , The Chocolat Bar, City Peanut Shop, ÀLAVITA, Pie Hole., Forkand tHe FuNkY tAco committed to donating a portion of sales directing to the IRC and the refugee families in need resulting in nearly $10,000 raised in one night of public support.
